CINCINNATI - The American Athletic Conference released its weekly awards for women's soccer with a pair of players from the University of Cincinnati garnering accolades this week, including Sophie Gorman and Madison Less, both of whom were named to the Honor Roll. The honors come following impressive performances that helped the Bearcats go 1-0-1 on the weekend and move to 11-1-3 overall and 4-0-2 in league play.
Less earned her team-high third Honor Roll award after playing every minute in both matches. Although she did not record a save in UC's 3-2 win over Tulsa, she did come up big with a career-high eight stops in a 0-0 draw with Memphis, a match that saw UC forced to play a woman down for the final 76:41 of the match because of a red card infraction. With the draw, Less recorded her league-leading sixth clean sheet of 2017 while picking up the 10th shutout of the year for the Bearcats.
Gorman joins Less as a mulitple-time Honor Roll recipient as she landed on the list for the second time this year. In the match with Tulsa, the rookie had a career match as she tallied one goal and added one assist for three points. With those marks, she now leads the team in goals (4), assists (4) and points (12) and ranks among the Top 10 in the AAC in points.
