BEARCATS PICKED TO WIN THE AMERICAN
CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team received a No. 13 ranking in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll released Thursday, Oct. 19.
It marks the Bearcats' highest preseason ranking in the USA Today poll since prior to the 1999-2000 campaign when UC was listed third.
American Athletic Conference newcomer Wichita State was listed eighth in the preseason poll. Other upcoming Bearcats opponents included in the poll were Florida (seventh), Xavier (No. 17), UCLA (No. 18) and SMU (receiving votes).
The Associated Press preseason poll is scheduled for release on Nov. 1.
Cincinnati returns its top three scorers from last season's squad that won 30 games, posted an undefeated home record and earned its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
