Senior Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School) finished one stroke behind Fox in 14th place at 1-over 74-73-70=217. Baxter's final round was highlighted by five birdies. Redshirt freshman Andy Mayhew climbed 10 spots on Tuesday to finish tied for 38th place at 9-over 71-80-74=225.
// QUOTING HEAD COACH DOUG MARTIN
On Austin Squires repeating as champion:
"Defending a title is very difficult and Austin displayed a lot of character today. He was more disappointed that the team lost then that he had won. He's a tremendous team player. He showed great patience throughout the tournament on a challenging course."
On the team's overall performance:
"I'm extremely proud that our team stayed mentally tough, kept fighting and got ourselves to the next shot. It's something we have been working on and is an important characteristic of a great team.
"Austin carried us during some stretches of the tournament and Jake (Fox) and Davis (Baxter) put in great performances today. We're still a young team and for us to show this level of patience and get to the next shot is incredible."
