The match, which also was Senior Night for seven members of the program, saw the Bearcats win their 10th of the year to move to 10-1-2 while the Eagles fell to 3-9-1 overall.

// FIRST HALF
The scoring opened with a strong show of skill from the Bearcats as they quickly moved the ball in the attacking third. First, Katy Couperus collected a loose ball near midfield and played it wide to Lizzie Ehrnfelt, who slid a pass to Sophie Gorman. The rookie moved in, played a pass to Julie Gavorski at the top of the 18 who one-timed a pass to Brown, who the ball toward the far post and into the net for a 1-0 lead in the 22'. The goal was Brown's third of the year, which tied her for the team lead, and eventually gave her the seventh game-winning score of her career, the eighth-most in program history.

With the first half winding down, the Bearcats doubled their lead in the 43' as Vetere scored for the second time in three matches. Bailey Korhorn got things started by moving on goal and sending a pass into Vetere, who was just inside the 18. After Vetere collected the pass, the defense poked the ball away, but Vetere was able to quickly regain possession, turn to her left and hit a shot into the netting for a 2-0 lead. The goal followed Vetere's winner at UConn last Thursday in a 1-0 victory.

// SECOND HALF
In the 52', the Bearcats added a third, this time from Alf, who collected the first goal of her collegiate career. Following a corner kick, the ball was played across the goal and wide to Tiffany Huber, who chased the ball down at the end line and slipped a pass to Alf who hit it home with her left foot, going to the opposite post for a 3-0 score. While it was Alf's first career goal, it was Huber's first point of the year and her first assist since helping on a score last year against Youngstown State (September 18).

The final goal of the match came in the 88' to mark the third time UC has scored in the 86' or later this year. This time, MSU's keeper, Michelle Washburn, took a goal kick and played toward the circle where Korhorn rose over her defender and headed the ball ahead to Abbott, who was racing toward the goal. The ball came down and Abbott chipped a shot over the keeper and into the netting for her second career goal and the first of the season. The assist for Korhorn was the first of her collegiate career.
