LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Cincinnati women's golf finished play at the Kentucky/Indiana Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in 13th place on Saturday at the Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky.
Originally scheduled for 18 holes on each of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the format was amended with 36 holes on Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather on Sunday. The Bearcats followed a 305 during the first round on Friday with a 313 and 316 during Saturday's second and third rounds to finish 13th out of 16 teams.
Junior Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) continued to pace UC on Saturday following a one-under-par 71 on Friday to sit in a tie for seventh place with a 79 in the second round and a 78 in the third to finish in a tie for 30th place out of nearly 100 golfers. Sophomore Alyssa Burritt (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) carded the Red & Black's best score in the second round with a 74 (+2) featuring three birdies, while, competing individually, freshman Angela Lopez (Bogotá, Colombia) turned in a team-best, even-par 72 in the third and final round with a pair of birdies and 14 pars.
