CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball program got back on track Friday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of Memphis. UC won by set scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 26-24.

• The Bearcats' team posted an attack percentage of .290 on the day, just shy of their season-high of .291

• Carly Nolan led the team with 15 kills
• Erica Kostelac had 13 kills while hitting .480
• Jasmine Jones had a team-high five blocks
• Abby Williams led with 13 digs
// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC, 25-16
• The opening set went back-and-forth until two straight kills by Carly Nolan broke a 10-10 and put the Bearcats in front for the duration of the set. The lead grew to four when Erica Kostelac had back-to-back kills to put the score at 13-9. The Tigers hung in but a 3-0 run by the Bearcats would finish off the set. Erica Kostelac had another kill before Elly Ogle had an ace and a Memphis attack error gave UC the set victory.
Set 2: UC, 25-14
• The Bearcats stayed hot by opening set two with a 3-0 run. Nolan had an ace before Kostelac had a kill to make it 2-0 early on. A block by Jones and Ogle added another point. UC was in the driver's seat from then on, taking leads of 13-4 and 17-9 on kills by Nolan and Ogle, respectively. The Bearcats went up by ten, 22-12, by scoring three-straight points again. The set ended in UC's favor on a kill by Nolan.
Set 3: UC, 26-24
• The third and final set was much closer, but UC would once again prevail after staging a comeback with a huge 9-0 run late. In the beginning, Memphis would string together two 3-0 runs of its own to start out leading 6-1. UC slowly began to chip away at the deficit. It became an 8-5 set on a Memphis attack error and a 10-7 set later on a block by Jones and Jade Tingelhoff. Down 21-15, the Bearcats began their late surge. It started with a Nolan kill and a block by Jones and Ogle. Another Ogle kill followed by a kill by Jones on an assist from Tingelhoff tied the set at 21. UC went ahead by two on a Nolan kill. Memphis stayed alive by scoring three-straight, but a Nolan kill tied it back up at 24 before a Kostelac kill made it set and match point. Nolan ended the day with an ace.

The Bearcats will host Wichita State on Sunday, November 12 at noon. Sunday's match will be senior day with a ceremony held post-match. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to support the Bearcats' food drive.
