CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's basketball defeated the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions, 82-43, on Wednesday night at Saint Ursula Academy Gymnasium & Convocation Center.

With the win, the Bearcats improved to 2-1 on the young season and registered their second-consecutive victory. Meanwhile, SELU dropped to 0-3 in 2017.

Playing its first of 16 home games this season at Saint Ursula Academy (SUA), UC used a 22-0 run from the 1:56 mark of the first quarter to the 4:18 mark of the second to take control of the game with a 36-15 advantage. Armed with a 44-19 halftime lead, the closest the Red & Black would let the visitors get was 22 points late in the third quarter. A 16-0 UC streak over the bulk of the final period pushed UC's advantage to more than 40 points late as the home team cruised to victory.

All 13 Bearcats who saw action in the game scored, led by sophomore guard Antoinette Miller's (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) career-high-tying 16 points. Freshman forward Iimar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) notched UC's first double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Miller also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists.

The Red & Black continued this season's domination in the paint with 44 points. The Bearcats also forced the Lions into 22 turnovers which they converted into 30 points. With everyone scoring, UC's bench totaled 51 points. The home team dominated on the boards, 42-25, and shot an incredibly-efficient 61 percent from the field, including seven made 3-pointers, while suffocating SELU into just 21 percent shooting.
