// LAST TIME OUT
UC (2-1) defeated the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions, 82-43, on Wednesday night at SUA.

Playing its first of 16 home games this season at SUA, UC used a 22-0 run from the 1:56 mark of the first quarter to the 4:18 mark of the second to take control of the game with a 36-15 advantage. Armed with a 44-19 halftime lead, the closest the Red & Black would let the visitors get was 22 points late in the third quarter. A 16-0 UC streak over the bulk of the final period pushed UC's advantage to more than 40 points late as the home team cruised to victory.

All 13 Bearcats who saw action in the game scored, led by sophomore guard Antoinette Miller's (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) career-high-tying 16 points. Freshman forward Iimar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) notched UC's first double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

// SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
True freshman Thomas has been impressive early on. Through three games, the 17-year-old is averaging team bests of 17.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest in only 23.7 minutes a game. Her 75-percent field goal percentage is tops in the American Athletic Conference while her points per game average ranks 11th.

After becoming the 26th member of UC women's basketball's 1,000-point club last season, senior guard Ana Owens (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) continues her climb up the all-time scoring list. Her 1,151 total career points currently ranks 18th all-time. She is on pace to break into the top 10 before the season's end.

Following just missing recording her 14th career double-double on Monday against Sliipery Rock with nine points and nine rebounds, Johnson is poised for a big senior season. Her 13 double-doubles last season ranked among the top 25 in the nation. The forward began last year with double-doubles in four of the first five games of the season.

The Bearcats have been dominant in the paint already in 2017-18 with 126 points over the first three games, a 42 points-a-contest average. UC scored 38 at ETSU on Nov. 10 and followed with 44 against both Slippery Rock on Monday and Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday. Along with that, the Red & Black is shooting an efficient 52.9-percent from the field with an average of approximately 57 shot attempts per contest. The Bearcats' shooting percentage is best in The American, while their 81.3 points per game ranks second. UC is also getting it done on the defensive end with 30.6-percent field goal percentage defense which is second-best in the league.
