CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming team closed out the Bearcat Midseason Invitational with another successful day at the Keating Aquatic Center on Saturday. In all, nine NCAA B cuts were recorded along with numerous pool records in the three day event.
// RECORDS AND NCAA TIMES
• In the prelims of the 200 backstroke, Natalie Obando recorded a NCAA B time with a 1:58:91 performance
• Zach Baecker set a new pool record in the prelims of the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:01:00. Dominic Polling was just behind him, coming to the wall in 2:01:03. Baecker then broke his own record to win the finals with a time of 1:59:22, a NCAA B time
• Dominic Polling also posted a NCAA B time in the 200 breaststroke finals, coming in second at 1:59:40
• Both Ryan DePietro and George Epsly capture NCAA B times in the 200 butterfly. DePietro came in at 1:48:71 and Epsly at 1:48:86
• The quartet of Maddie Exton, Katherine Gob, Lindsey Niehaus and Michaela Wheeler broke the pool record for the 400 freestyle relay, winning the event with 3:21:66
// OTHER WINNERS
• Sara Wanasek began the final session by winning the grueling 1650 freestyle race, coming in at 16:37:19
• Ryan DePietro took the same event for the UC men with a time of 15:37:71
• Remington Oland won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49:84
• Two Bearcats took the win in the 100 freestyle and Hans Kabelka and Justin Crew both came in at 46:07
• The Bearcats won the men's 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:01:74. Dom Polling, Din Selmanovic, Hans Kabelka and Justin Crew made up the winning relay team

// COMING UP NEXT
• From November 29 – December 2, select swimmers will take part in US Winter Nationals in Columbus
• During that same time, diving will compete at the Miami Diving Invitational in Oxford, Ohio
• Those two events will close out the fall semester for the Bearcats
• UC will return to action when the calendar turns
• The next home event at the Keating Aquatic Center will be a meet with Virginia Tech and Xavier on Friday, January 19 starting at 5 p.m.
