CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati guard Jarron Cumberland (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington High School) was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday.
The sophomore led the Bearcats in scoring in both of their victories last week, averaging 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 56.5 percent (13 of 23) from the field with eight three-pointers.
Cumberland scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting with four three-pointers in Cincinnati's 102-51 home win against Western Carolina (Nov. 13). He then produced a game-high 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting with four triples in the Bearcats' 97-54 victory over Coppin State (Nov. 16).
For the season, Cumberland is averaging a team-high 16.3 points with 6.0 rebounds while shooting 50 percent (17 of 34) from the floor. He posted 10 points and five assists in UC's 107-77 win over Savannah State (Nov. 10) in the season opener.
A member of The American's All-Rookie Team last season, Cumberland also earned AAC Co-Sixth Man of the Year accolades while averaging 8.3 points in 19.1 minutes off the bench.
