CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball program suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of UCF on Friday night at St. Ursula Academy. The Bearcats lost by set scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-14.

• UC now sits at 10-15 on the season and 8-5 in conference play
• UCF improves to 13-12 and 6-7
Jade Tingelhoff recorded a double-double with 26 assists and 13 digs on the night. She achieved it through just two sets
Erica Kostelac led the team with 11 kills
Abby Williams had a team-high 14 digs. Carly Nolan had ten and Chrysanthi Stamatiou had 11 digs to put four Bearcats in double-digits
Jasmine Jones had a part in all of the team's four blocks

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UCF, 25-17

• UCF came out strong and took an 8-2 lead to open the match. UC would score three-straight later on to bring the lead closer. Carly Nolan had a kill and the Knights had two attack error during the run. Down 16-9, the Bearcats put together another run. It started with two errors by UCF. Kills by Nolan and Maya Muldrow then made it a 16-12 set. Jasmine Jones and Jade Tingelhoff teamed up for a block to put the score at 23-27, but the Knights were able to take the next two points to win the set.

Set 2: UCF, 25-20
• Kills by Erica Kostelac and Jones got UC off to a better start in set two, as they went up 3-1 early. UCF tied the game at 12 and 13, but kills by Jones and Chrysanthi Stamatiou broke both. Knotted 19-19, the Knights took their first lead of the set on a kill. That was the midway point of a 5-0 run for UCF. Another kill by Kostelac put a stop to the surge, but the Knights would then string together three-straight points to take the match.

Set 3: UCF, 25-14
• UCF took an early lead in the third set, but kills by Parker Shepherd and Kostelac evened it out 4-4. From there, the Knights began to take control again. The Bearcats brought the set to within three points, 10-7, on a kill by Nolan from Shepherd, but a big run by UCF would expand its lead for the remainder of the set. Nolan had two late kills to keep the set going, but a kill by UCF would end the match.

UC remains home for its next three matches. The Bearcats are back in action on Sunday in a 1 p.m. match with USF at St. Ursula Academy.
