PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati men's soccer forward Austin Smythe was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday by the league office.
Smythe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Radford) scored the match-tying goal early in Saturday's home meeting versus UCF. In total, he tallied four shots in the game including three on goal. The Bearcats ultimately dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Knights.
On the season, Smythe scored five goals and dished out one assist. He also had one game winner, a 63rd-minute score vs. IUPUI on Sept. 1.
The accolade is the first conference honor for Smythe during his UC career.
