COLUMBUS, OHIO/OXFORD, OHIO – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team started competition at two separate events on Thursday. The swimmers began action at US Winter Nationals while the divers began their event at the Miami Invitational.

Day One Finals
• In the B Final of the 500 freestyle, Rocky Laabs finished sixth with a time of 4:50:67
• On the men's side, Din Selmanovic placed eighth in the A Final with a time of 4:22:65 in the 500 freestyle
• Also in the 500 freestyle, Chris Bready finished fifth in the B Final while Justin Crew finished second and Toby Van Dyke seventh in the C Final
• Samantha Wheatley came to the wall seventh in the 200 IM C Final with a time of 2:03:76
• Dominic Polling was second in the C Final of the 200 IM, finishing 0.01 behind the winner with a time of 1:47:21
• The quartet of Polling, Zach Hostoffer, Hans Kabelka and Crew finished eighth in the 4x100 medley relay. They finished in 3:21:12

• UC's divers competed on the platform on the first day of competition of the Miami Invitational
• Gus Staubitz put up a 12th place finish with a 173.50
• The Bearcat women finished seventh thru tenth on the platform, led by a 208.00 from Tricia Roscoe
• Claire Schuermann finished eighth (185.70), Kaley Pook ninth (161.15) and Audrey Capannari tenth (146.65) in the event for UC
// DAY TWO SCHEDULE
• US Winter Nationals will begin with the 400 IM on Friday, followed by the 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke
• Prelims will be held in the morning with the finals taking place in the evening
