CINCINNATI - Seventy Bearcats student-athletes are set to receive their diplomas this weekend as the University of Cincinnati will hold its Spring Commencement Saturday, April 29, inside Nippert Stadium. All told, those 70 Bearcats will receive degrees in 23 different majors this weekend.
To prepare for the weekend, many of those 70 Bearcats, along with those on track to graduate at the conclusion of the summer and winter sessions, were recognized by the Athletics Department on Monday, April 24. Members of the Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) staff were on hand to place the traditional student-athlete stole on each senior in attendance as they were introduced to the crowd on hand.
The ceremonies, which are being held outdoors as renovations of Fifth Third Arena continue to progress, will see the Bachelor's and Associate's Commencement Ceremony taking place at 2 p.m. with the Doctoral Hooding and Master's Recognition Ceremony taking place earlier in the day at 9 a.m. Overall, the students in the April 2017 graduating class hail from 48 states and 51 countries and will account for 557 associate's degrees; 3,838 bachelor's degrees; 1,421 master's degrees; 274 doctoral degrees; and 227 professional degrees.
