CINCINNATI – Offensive lineman Kendal Calhoun (Paducah, Ky./Tilghman/Lackawanna CC) and linebacker Jaylyin Minor (Navasota, Texas/Navasota/Tyler JC) are scheduled to participate in the 2018 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 14, at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla.
 
The game kicks off at 9 a.m. ET and will be streamed online exclusively at FloFootball.com. A FloFootball subscription is required to view the stream.
 
Minor put together a career season in 2017. He entered the season with 21 career appearances on special teams and only one start. Elected one of UC's senior tri-captains, he won the starting middle linebacker job in the spring, started all 12 games and led the American Athletic Conference with 125 tackles. He had double-digit stops in seven games, including a career-high 16 against Temple. He also had 4.5 tackles for a loss, two pass break ups, a fumble recovery and a sack. Minor earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in April 2017.
 
Calhoun made nine starts at right tackle in his first significant action for the Bearcats, helping anchor an offensive line which ranked among the AAC's top four schools in fewest sacks allowed. He earned his bachelor's degree in history in April 2017.
 
The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl is a premier FBS Division I level College Football All Star Game played in Daytona Beach, Florida annually in mid-January. The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl showcases the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and GM's who travel from around the country to the event. Over 110 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl alumni have gone on to the NFL since its inception in 2016.
