ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati cheer & dance squads as well as the Bearcat mascot will compete Jan. 12-14 at the UCA-UDA College National Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Bearcats dance team will be looking for its eighth national title and fourth in the past five years.
A year ago, dance won its seventh national championship, the cheer team took home fifth and the Bearcat mascot took sixth. Dance's hip hop crown was its third in the past four years. The dance team also took sixth in the pom competition.
The cheer team kicks things off with its gameday routine, a new category in 2018, at 9:09 p.m. ET Friday. The D-1A semifinals are Saturday with the Bearcats on the mat at 11:21 a.m. Cheer also takes part in the University World Cup Cheerleading Championships in the premier large coed division at 10:54 a.m. Sunday.
The Bearcat mascot will be one of 15 NCAA Division I mascots to perform in the mascot national championship on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Dance competes Saturday in the pom semifinals at 10:06 a.m. and hip hop semis at 6:36 p.m. Dance will show off its gameday routine at 8:06 p.m. Sunday.
The top-eight teams from each discipline will advance to the finals on Sunday with the hip-hop finals beginning at 3:19 p.m., the pom finals starting at 4:30 p.m., and the cheer finals commencing at 7 p.m.
