- With the win, Cincinnati improved to 18-2 overall and remained perfect in the American Athletic Conference at 7-0 after securing their 11th win in a row. Visiting Temple slipped to 10-10 overall and 2-6 in the AAC.
- IN THE SERIES: Following the win, the Bearcats now hold a 21-9 record in the all-time series with the Owls while moving to 9-2 all-time in home games. UC, which has now won four meetings in a row in the series, also stands 6-4 all-time when playing in Philadelphia and 6-3 in neutral site games.
- The win tonight extended UC's nation-leading home win streak to 37 games. The Bearcats also have won 21 league home games in a row. The last time the Bearcats suffered a defeat on their home court came December 29, 2015, inside Fifth Third Arena to Temple in the 2015-16 AAC opener.
- Tonight's win marks the 1,775th victory in program history and keeps the Bearcats in a tie for 15th on the NCAA all-time victories list with Illinois.
- HALFTIME REPORT: With an 8-0 run to close out the first half, Cincinnati took a 35-19 lead into halftime, marking the 14th time (in 20 games) this season that the Bearcats have held its opponent to 30 or fewer points in the opening stanza. It also marked the seventh time this year that UC held a foe to 20 or fewer points in the first half of play. Jarron Cumberland had the hot hand as he scored a game-leading 11 points in the opening 20 minutes of play while Gary Clark and Kyle Washington each chipped in seven points. Quinton Rose led the Temple effort with seven points.
- Prior to tonight's 33-point margin of victory, the largest deficit Temple had faced was 23 points in a game at home against Villanova (12/13/17). Tonight, the Bearcats limited the Owls to 29 percent shooting, including 13 percent from behind the arc, and allowed just 42 points, the second-lowest output of the year by Temple (L, 60-39, at UCF on 1/7/18).
- In four home league games, UC has defeated its foes by an average of 28.3 points per game (+34 vs. Memphis, +33 vs. Temple, +26 vs. ECU, +20 vs. SMU).
- UC closed both halves tonight on 8-0 runs.
- UC has tallied three or more blocked shots in every game this season.
- UC scored 24 points off 20 turnovers, the 11th time the Bearcats have gone over the 20 point mark in points off turnovers and the fifth time this season the Bearcats defense has forced 20 or more turnovers. The Bearcats have forced 11 or more turnovers and scored 11 or more points off turnovers in all seven AAC games this season.
- At 18:29 in the second half, Gary Clark rebounded a Nate Pierre-Louis missed free throw attempt to his 1,000th career rebound as a Bearcat. With those caroms, he became just the fifth Bearcats player to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career and the first since Robert Miller did the same from 1975-79. The exclusive club features Oscar Robertson (1958-60) with 2,973/1,338, Jack Twyman (1952-55) with 1,598/1,242, Paul Hogue (1960-62) with 1,391/1,088 and Miller with 1,498/1,060.
- Clark scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds for his fourth consecutive double-double, his eighth this season and the 26th of his career. Tonight marked the 15th time Clark has scored in double-figures while also posting his 10th game of the year with double-digit rebounds. With his 17 points, Clark has now scored 1,259 points in his UC career and moved up to 27th on the all-time ledger, moving past Steve Collier (1975-78) and Jim Ard (1968-70) with 1,252 points and 1,256 points, respectively.
- Clark was in the starting lineup for the Bearcats once again tonight, marking his 121st game as a starter. He is now two starts away from tying Deonta Vaughn (2007-10) for the most starts in UC history and, should he continue to be among the starters in the coming games, he will tie Vaughn on Jan. 31 when Houston comes to town (7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network) and then would break the mark with his 124th career start on the road at UConn on Feb. 3 (Noon on ESPN or ESPN2).
- Jacob Evans III finished the night with 10 points and six rebounds while also recording a career-high five steals. With his 10 points, Evans now ranks 49th all-time on UC's scoring list with 1,039 points. Tonight, he moved past Field Williams (2001-04), who scored 1,030 points in his career. Evans' steal total bettered his previous career best of four that he recorded twice with the most recent theft total coming on Feb. 8, 2017, vs. UCF.
- Jarron Cumberland finished with 13 points and a steal, his 13th time in double-digits this season and 27th time in his career.
- Eliel Nsoseme had four points and five rebounds in 11 minutes of action.
- Walk-on guard John Koz scored his first career points on a layup underneath the basket late in the game.
- Walk-on guard Sam Martin pulled down his first career rebound in the game and logged a career-best four minutes.
