LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Cincinnati swimming and diving dropped a meet to a tough University of Kentucky team on Friday night on the road. The men fell 207-91 and the women lost 209-89.

• The Bearcats continue to be strong in distance swims as Chris Bready won the men's 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:06:91 and Din Selmanovic finished second at 9:15:70
• Rocky Laabs finished second in the 200 freestyle, coming to the wall in 1:51:79
• Lindsey Niehaus came in third in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 58:00
• Kennedy Herbert placed third in 100 breaststroke at 1:05:29
• Zach Hostoffer was second in the 100 breaststroke. He got to the wall in 56:39
• Niehaus also got to the podium in the 50 freestyle, finishing second with a time of 24:01
• William Sigala also placed in the 50 freestyle, finishing third in 21:29
• Maddie Exton placed second and Claire Farrell placed third in the 100 freestyle with times of 52:74 and 52:82, respectively
• Sigala added another third place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45:57
• Natalie Obando was third in the 200 backstroke at 2:05:01
• Dee Sopapong was third in the 200 breaststroke at 2:21:32
• Hostoffer added another second-place finish, this time in the 200 breaststroke in 2:05:31. Dom Polling was third in the event at 2:05:62
• Laabs recorded the second win for the Bearcats on the night. She took the 500 freestyle in 4:55:30
• Bready and Selmanovic tied in the 500 freestyle, bringing in the fastest time of 4:29:52
• Simone Palomo took second in the 100 butterfly, coming in at 57:47
• Sigala once again had a top finish. He finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49:90

• Claire Schuermann finished third in 1-meter with a score of 263.70 and third in 3-meter with a 280.35
• Mitch Godar finished fourth in 3-meter with a 273.75
• Issac Karn finished fourth in the 1-meter with a score of 252.90

• The Bearcats host their final meet Saturday at the Keating Aquatic Center
• Diving will start at 10 am and swimming will follow at 1 p.m. against Kenyon
• The program's seniors will be honored at 12:30 p.m. in a special ceremony
• It will also be Signature Saturday with select student-athletes signing autographs on the pool deck post meet

The University of Cincinnati department of athletics announced an initiative entitled Experience UC, geared toward inviting the community to campus to see firsthand the great things about and surrounding the university. Experience UC includes complimentary admission for patrons attending women's basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, women's tennis, men's and women's soccer, swimming and diving and track and field home events.
