NORFOLK, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America announced its Scholar All-America team for the fall 2017 semester on Monday with both the University of Cincinnati's men's and women's team earning recognition.
The CSCAA handed out the distinction to 688 teams across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions. To qualify, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the semester.
UC's women achieved a 3.49 GPA in the fall while the men brought in a 3.26 GPA. Zach Baecker, Tyler Jones, Isaac Karn, Toby Van Dyke, Sydney King, Kelley Reis, Caroline Sheehan and Sara Wanasek were part of a record 50 UC student-athletes to post a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2017 semester. 23 others earned Dean's List honors for having a 3.4 GPA or higher.
