CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team return to home to Western Tennis & Fitness Club as they get set to take on Miami (OH) and Lipscomb. The weekend will begin with an evening match at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 2, as the Bearcats take on the Miami (OH) RedHawks, followed by an afternoon match on Saturday, February 3, at 3 p.m. against the Lipscomb Bison.

// LOOKING BACK
The Bearcats will look to bounce back from a tough outing against the Indiana Hoosiers. A strong showing in doubles allowed the team to get on the board first as Ioana Guna/Caroline Morton and Antonella Bramato/Anna Philp both secured victories. It was a rough time in the singles matches, but the Bearcats didn't go down without a fight. The team continues to show resilience and determination in every match.

// SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Freshman Ioana Guna looks to bounce back from a tough match at Indiana, halting her three-match win streak in singles. "It was a really tough match against Indiana and I played really well, but it wasn't like to win. I'm happy with how I played and learned that sometimes it's not important overall how you play, sometimes it's more important how you play in the right moment."

After missing the matches against Wright State and Dayton, junior Antonella Bramato is looking to get back in rhythm.  Returning to the courts against Indiana, she played tough, but wasn't able to come out on top. When asked about her outlook going in to the season, Bramato said, "I'm confident in my game and think that the team has a great possibility to do well this season."

// SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
The RedHawks had their wings clipped to open the season as the Kentucky Wildcats defeated them, 7-0, on January 24th. They quickly took back to the air with 4-3 victories over Wright State and a 5-2 victory over Dayton.

Senior Nelli Ponomareva leads the RedHawks and will look to continue her two-match win streak in singles.

// SCOUTING THE BISON
The Bison have roamed throughout the south to begin their season, opening with 4-0 and 6-0 losses to Middle Tennessee and Alabama, respectively. Following their match with Alabama, they corralled the Catamounts of Western Carolina in a 4-3 victory and then fell to, 4-2. The Bison are scheduled to dual with the Musketeers of Xavier on Friday, February 2, before traveling across town.
Freshman Kateryna Popova will put her two-match win streak in singles on the line as she travels to Cincinnati, as well as, extend her two-match win streak in doubles with Denise Buberl.
