DALLAS, Texas - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving men's team added to its lead at the American Athletic Conference Championships while the women made a jump up into second place in the second day of action on Thursday.
 
// PODIUM FINISHES
• Both Din Selmanovic and Chris Bready reached the podium in the 500 free, finishing in second and third, respectively
• Selmanovic posted a time of 4:20:01, a new school record. He also set the record at last year's conference championship before Bready broke at the 2017 NCAA's
Dominic Polling won the 200 IM with a time of 1:46:07, breaking a record that stood since 1998
Katherine Gob posted a personal best in the 50 free to win the event. Her time was 22.80
Alex Fortman also made the podium in the 50 free, putting in a time of 20.34 to finish third
Claire Schuermann won the 1-meter diving competition with a final score of 261.45
• UC's men made it to the podium in the final event of the night. Polling, William Sigala, Hans Kabelka and Fortman combined to place third in the 200 free relay
 
// OTHER EVENTS
Rocky Laabs had the top finish for UC in the 500 free, coming to the wall in 4:50:23
• The Bearcat women finished fourth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:32:31

• Session five will begin at 11 a.m. EST and will consist of the prelims for the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and men's 3-meter diving
• Podium spots will be up for grabs Friday night starting at 7 p.m. in all of the day's previous prelim events plus the 400 medley relay
