CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's basketball continued its recent dominance at home with a 78-41, blowout win against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday at Saint Ursula Academy Gymnasium & Convocation Center in its annual Wear Pink game, presented by UC Health.

The convincing win is UC largest margin of victory in an American Athletic Conference game in its five seasons in the league -- topping last Saturday's 83-52, runaway win over Tulane.

The Bearcats have now won three-straight games and move to 16-10 on the season and 8-5 in the AAC. In addition, UC matches its win total from last season and marks its most conference wins since it recorded 11 in 2003 in Conference USA. Meanwhile, the Golden Hurricane drop to 9-17 overall and 3-10 in the league.

Looking to avenge a 64-51 loss at Tulsa on Jan. 6, the Bearcats came out firing, scoring the first eight points of the game and taking a 13-1 lead into the first media timeout. In total, UC outscored the Golden Hurricane, 23-3, in the opening quarter to take early control of the contest. The home team led by as many as 24 points midway through the second period and held TU scoreless for the final two minutes of the quarter to take a 39-17 advantage into halftime.

The Bearcats did not let up in the third period and increased their cushion to 28 points late to move into the final quarter with a 56-32 advantage. With the game essentially already decided, UC continued to execute in the fourth, manufacturing a 10-0 run early. The home team sustained its position in the driver's seat over the duration of the period, outscoring the Golden Hurricane, 9-4, over the final 4:29 to coast to a 78-41 decision.

Featuring four double-digit scorers for the second-consecutive game, guard Ana Owens (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) paced the Bearcats with a game-best 13 points. The senior also dished out a game-high four assists. Sophomore guard Antoinette Miller (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) continued her strong play off the bench with 11 points. Junior Nikira Goings (Marietta, Ga./Osborne) and senior forward Shanice Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara/Monroe CC) each scored 10 points. Additionally, Johnson just missed her second double-double of the season with a game-high nine rebounds.

UC dominated virtually every statistical category including rebounds (44-26), bench points (38-7), and points off turnovers (23-4). The Bearcats shot the ball at a 47-percent clip for the game and knocked down eight 3-pointers. The home team also got to the free-throw line 24 times, burying 14 of its attempts. In addition, UC scored 32 points in the paint and dished out 15 assists.
