FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – University of Cincinnati women's golf will swing into its 2018 spring season Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 19-20, at the Jacksonville University Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf & Country Club.

The stroke play event will span two days with 36 holes played on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Play will begin on Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and follow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun on Tuesday.

On Jan. 16, the Bearcats defeated the FIU Panthers, 4.5–0.5, in match play at Majors Golf Course in Palm Bay, Florida.
Competing for the first time since the end of October, the Bearcats were impressive against a solid FIU squad. With a scoring team and a B team competing, both found successes against the opposition.
Playing in the No. 1 spot on UC's scoring team, Gloor split a point with the Panthers' Carolina Andrade. Hitt and Keeling – competing in the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively – both went 1 up against FIU's Agueda Cortilla and Hannah Leiner head to head. The Red & Black's top five rounded out with Burritt beating Diana Velez, 6&5, and freshman Amalia Shahzan (Kedah, Malaysia) prevailing against Valentina Gilly, 4&3, to complete UC's 4.5-0.5 win.
The Bearcats B team also put on a winning performance with a 3.5-1.5 victory versus its FIU counterparts. Lopez went 2 up against Carolina Rotzinger, while sophomore Daniela Murcia (Bogotá, Colombia) took down Katerina Krasova, 2&1. Junior Emma Wachtel (Rorschwihr, France/Jean Sturm Gymnasium) completed UC's dominance with a 2 up triumph over Ana Maria Rengifo.
