CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team notched their fourth win of the season, taking down Miami (OH) 6-1. The RedHawks swooped down from Oxford, OH for the late afternoon match, but were quickly sent flying back to their nest. The Bearcats dominated the majority of the match and the few matches that the RedHawks did take, were not easily won.

Antonella Bramato and Ali Miller got things started for the Bearcats with a 6-4 victory. They were followed closely as Alexia Coutino and Emma Miceli earned the doubles point with a 6-4 victory. Ioana Guna and Caroline Morton dropped a closely contested match, but not without a fight.

Caroline Morton bounced back from her tough day at Indiana to get the Bearcats going in singles. She quickly took down Milania Lysova 6-1, 6-2. Antonella Bramato followed right behind Morton with her own 6-0, 6-1 victory. Alexia Coutino clinched the match for the Bearcats as she surrendered only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Anna Philp won her second singles match in a row with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Emma Miceli wrapped up the night for the Bearcats in what turned out to be a bit of a marathon match. After moving quickly through the first set, she went back and forth with Priyana Kalita. Both teams took to the court to watch the battle that ensued, with Miceli ultimately walking away with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win.

"Really happy with tonight's performance. We did a nice job on several of the singles courts getting off to great starts and making Miami play from behind. We can't enjoy this too long as we have a very solid Lipscomb team coming in tomorrow afternoon. We'll need to be as good if not better to get win #2 of the weekend."

UP NEXT
The Bearcats will return to the court on Saturday, February 3. They will take on the Lipscomb Bison at 3 p.m. at the Western Tennis & Fitness  Club.
