Ioana Guna, playing one of the toughest matches of the day, trailed 5-2 early on in both sets. However, she didn't allow that deficit to deter her as she rallied to take both sets, 7-5, 7-5, and give the Bearcats a one-point lead in the match.

Once the hugging and cheering was done, the entire team headed to the back court where Anna Philp was in a three-set battle with Memphis' Katherine Cao. After dropping the first set, 6-2, Philp took the second 6-3. She faltered early in the third set, but with the rest of the team looking on, she notched the Bearcats' fifth win in singles.
// COACH TOTH ON THE BEARCATS
"We knew it was going to be tough going today. Memphis is a good program and they've played well early; they played #15 Ole Miss tooth and nail. What was going to be toughest today was experience; it's pretty valuable in conference matches and that's what I'm most happy about. We beat a pretty seasoned team today and it's a real credit to our girls."
