CINCINNATI – The BIG EAST Conference announced its weekly award winners today for women's lacrosse with a pair of players for the University of Cincinnati program being honored, including Monica Borzillo being named the Attacker of the Week for third week in a row and Giuliana Durso earning a spot on the Honor Roll. Both played big roles in the Bearcats posting two more victories over the weekend to run the teams winning streak to five in a row as UC sits 5-1 overall on the year.

Borzillo tallied 15 points in wins over Central Michigan and Detroit Mercy in home games, including 10 points over the Chippewas as she scored the Bearcats first four goals of the game and finished with five in the first half. She added three more in the second to break Laura Simanski's school-record mark of seven goals in a game, set on April 30, 2010, at Villanova. Borzillo's eight goals were the most in a single game for a BIG EAST Conference player since Grace Nolan from UConn tallied nine goals against Fairfield on March 19, 2016. Borzillo added a pair of assists to tie her own school record of 10 points in a game, set at Butler on April 1, 2017. She capped the week with one goal and four assists in Monday's win over UDM to help UC to is best start in program history.

Durso recorded 24 saves in the two games and saved 61.5 percent of the shots she faced to push the Bearcats to a 2-0 record on the weekend and earn her first weekly award from the conference. In the opening game of the week, Durso saved 10 shots as the Bearcats downed CMU, 14-6. She followed that up with 14 more saves against the Titans Monday afternoon in a 12-10 victory. For the year, Durso has started all six games and stopped 50 percent of the shots she has faced to help UC to not only its best start in program history, but also tie for the program's longest winning streak at five games.

The Bearcats return to action Thursday at 3 p.m. as they play host to Campbell at Gettler Stadium.
