University of Cincinnati baseball returns to Marge Schott Stadium for a three-game series with Tennessee this weekend. Games are scheduled for 4pm Friday and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.

• Last season UT won the three-game series in Knoxville. UC took game one 2-1 then dropped a Saturday double header by scores of 2-1 and 6-2. Tennessee was ranked No. 25 at the time

• Senior Kyle Mottice was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday due to an impressive performance as the Bearcats went 4-1 at home last week
• Mottice hit an even .500 through the five games
• He started the week by going 2-for-4 with a double against NKU on Tuesday
• He earned five hits in the Saturday double-header with UT Martin and had two more in the finale on Sunday
• Mottice also stole four bags on four attempts and added in one walk and one sacrifice
• Joey Thomas landed a spot on the Johnny Bench Award Watch List which was announced Tuesday afternoon, being recognized for the second year in a row as one of the top catchers in the country
• On Wednesday Connor McVey was announced as the American Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete for baseball for the 2017-18 academic year. The award recognizes the top student-athlete in each sport across the conference

• The American Athletic Conference has numerous teams currently ranked in the national polls
• ECU, UCF and Wichita State are all ranked in at least one poll while Houston just dropped out
