COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three University of Cincinnati divers were busy on Friday in the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone C Championships.
 
In the preliminary round, Claire Schuermann put forth UC's best finish thus far, finishing 24th in 3-meter with a score of 243.75. Teammate Ellen Posch finished in 44th place with a score of 203.00
 
On the men's side, Mitch Godar improved from his 3-meter score in placement by finishing 33rd in the 1-meter with a 251.00
 
// SATURDAY EVENTS
• Saturday will be the final day of competition to decide who advances to the NCAA Championships
• Both men and women will compete in platform on Saturday
 
// HOW IT WORKS
• Five zone meets are held across the country this week. Each zone earns a set number of qualifying spots for the NCAA Championships based on previous performances
• For the women, Zone C in Columbus will receive eight 1-meter spots, ten 3-meter spots and ten platform spots
• For the men, there are ten 1-meter spots, ten 3-meter spots and 11 platform spots available
• Any diver who earns a qualifying spot in their zone competition gets an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championships
