FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Late Monday night, University of Cincinnati women's basketball was named one of 32 at-large selections for the 2018 Women's National Invitation Postseason Tournament (WNIT) and will visit at-large qualifier Michigan State on Thursday, March 15, in first round action. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. inside the Breslin Center.
The selection marks the Bearcats' first appearance in a non-league postseason tournament since 2011-12 when it knocked off Duquesne, 68-63, in overtime in the WNIT first round. The Red & Black followed with a 72-51 loss at Toledo in the second round. UC is 3-8 all-time in the WNIT.

The dates for the 64-team tournament are as follows:
Round 1 – March 14-16
Round 2 – March 17-20
Round 3 – March 21-23
Round 4 – March 24-26
Semifinals – March 28-29
Championship – Saturday, March 31, 3 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network)

UC is aiming to continue the momentum of its best season in 15 years in 2017-18 in which it has compiled a 19-12 overall record, a program best fourth-place finish in the American Athletic Conference, and a conference tournament semifinals appearance. In addition, two Bearcats earned postseason all-conference honors with freshman forward IImar'I Thomas (Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) picked as the 2018 AAC Freshman of the Year, while senior guard Ana Owens (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) garnered Third Team accolades.
