CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati freshman Nicholas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School) carded a 3-under par 69 to tie for 10th place after the opening round of the Linger Longer Invitational on Sunday at Great Waters Golf Club in Greensboro, Ga.
Osterburg registered his best round of the spring season, posting six birdies, including a 2-under score on the back nine to lead the Bearcats.
Georgia's Davis Thompson leads the 90-player event after registering a 9-under 63.
As the team the Bearcats are tied for seventh place with UNC Greensboro at 1-under 287. Georgia leads the 16-team field at 16-under 272.
Also playing for Cincinnati Sunday were senior Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School), who shot even par 72 and sits tied for 30th overall; both junior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) and redshirt freshman Andy Mayhew (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood High School) sit tied for 40th place after each shot a 1-over 73; and sophomore Jake Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller High School) posted a 4-over 76 to tie for 70th overall.
