Appiah Signs with LA Galaxy II

CARSON, Calif. – Former University of Cincinnati men's soccer student-athlete Emmanuel Appiah signed last week with LA Galaxy II. Also referred to as Los Dos, the club is a league mate of FC Cincinnati in the United Soccer League (USL).

CARSON, Calif. – Former University of Cincinnati men's soccer student-athlete Emmanuel Appiah signed last week with LA Galaxy II. Also referred to as Los Dos, the club is a league mate of FC Cincinnati in the United Soccer League (USL).

A four-year Bearcats letter winner from 2011-15, Appiah began his professional career in 2016 when he was selected 15th overall by Colorado Rapids in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Later that year, he was signed by Sporting KC and was subsequently loaned to Swope Park Rangers, making eight regular season appearances in addition to four postseason appearances, helping Swope Park to the 2016 USL Cup final. Signed the next season by Saint Louis FC, Appiah made ten appearances for the club in 2017.
 
Appiah has already inserted himself into Los Dos' lineup with a start in the team's 2018 USL opener on Saturday, March 17 -- a 2-0 loss to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
 
Born in Sampa, Ghana and later resided in Westerville, Ohio, Appiah was Second Team All-American Athletic Conference and All-Ohio selections as a senior at UC. He had his highest scoring season in 2015 with five goals and six assists. In total, Appiah played in 65 matches during his Cincinnati career, scoring seven goals and adding 11 assists.
