CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team heads north for the regular season finale that will include a pair of American Athletic Conference matches. The Bearcats will take the court on Saturday, April 14 to face the ECU Pirates in a match scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Storrs, Ct and then return on Sunday, April 15 to close out the season with a 1:00 p.m. match against the UConn Huskies.
 
// LOOKING BACK
The Bearcats claimed the city crown with a 5-2 victory over the NKU Norse. The match opened with strong play in doubles allowing the Bearcats to sweep the Norse and jump out to an early 1-0 lead. Caroline Morton extended the lead as she was dominant in a 6-2, 6-1 singles victory. Antonella Bramato responded as NKU attempted to cut in to the Bearcats lead with a 6-0, 6-3 singles victory of her own. NKU wouldn't go away, but Emma Miceli slammed the door with a gutsy 6-4, 6-4 victory to clinch the match for the Bearcats. Alexia Coutino rounded out the strong performances by the Bearcats as she notched as 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory of her own.
 
// SCOUTING THE PIRATES
The Pirates will have hoisted their colors, set sail for the long voyage from Greenville to Storrs and dropped anchor by the time the Bearcats arrive. The Pirates will enter battle on Friday, April 13, with a three-match win streak, looking to make the UConn Huskies walk the plank before facing the Bearcats on Saturday. Entering the Friday's match, ECU holds a 15-8 overall record, while going 1-5 in American Athletic Conference play.
 
The swashbuckling group is led by Lisa Hofbauer who holds a three-match win streak in singles actions.
 
// SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
The Huskies enter the weekend following a 4-3 victory over Boston University on April, 7. The Huskies hold an overall record of 10-8, while going 0-3 in American Athletic Conference matches. Their longest win streak came during a four-match streak with victories over Drexel, Army, Colgate and Northern Iowa.
 
The combination of Yelyzaveta Pletnyeva and Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph currently hold a two-match win streak in doubles action. In singles action three different UConn players enter the weekend looking to build on their current successes.
