The University of Cincinnati finished tied for sixth while junior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) and sophomore Jake Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller High School) tied for 20th place at 2-over par 146 after rainy and unplayable conditions Sunday canceled the final round of the Boilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
As a team the Bearcats' 9-over 285-300=585 tied Northern Illinois (9-over 289-296=585) for sixth place in the 17-team field. Kent State (3-over 285-294=579) and Northwestern (3-over 284-295=579) shared the team title.
Squires earns his sixth Top 20 finish of the year while Fox posts his second. Both teammates carded identical 2-over 70-76=146 scores during first and second round action Saturday.
UC senior Davis Baxter (Nolsenville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School) finished one stroke behind Squires and Fox, tied for 30th at 3-over 72-75=147. Freshman Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School) tied for 41st at 4-over 73-75=148. Redshirt-freshman Andy Mayhew (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood High School) tied for 46th place at 5-over 75-74=149.
UCF's Bobby Bai earned medalist honors in the rain-shortened event after carding a 5-under 70-69=139 Saturday.
