University of Cincinnati baseball remains home at Marge Schott Stadium to defend its first place position in the American Athletic Conference standings with a series against UConn. Games are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
// PROMOTIONS
• Friday is the last day of class bash and the first 100 UC students through the gates will receive an Under Armour t-shirt
• Friday is also pennant day with the Student Alumni Council. 500 pennants will be handed out to the fans courtesy of John Morrell
• Saturday is Bark in the Park. The first 300 dogs into the game will be given a leash courtesy of John Morrell
• The SPCA Mobile Adoption Unit will be on hand with dogs looking for their forever homes
• $1 hot dogs will be available at the concession stands
• Sunday is another Sunday Fun Day Family Four Pack game. Four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas can be purchased for just $20
• Also on Sunday, t-shirt will be given out to the first 250 fans at the game

// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Cincinnati is 12-21 all-time against UConn
• The Huskies took the series at home in 2016. The Bearcats won the first game 5-4 before dropping the next two by scores of 6-4 and 3-2
• The two teams met at the AAC Tournament last season with UConn winning 12-3
• UC won the series at home in 2016, taking the first two games before dropping the Sunday finale
• UConn jumped into the weekly national polls after receiving votes the previous two weeks
• The Huskies are ranked No. 24 by D1Baseball. They were ranked No. 25 and No. 24 after the first two weeks of the season by Baseball America
• UConn has made some noise lately in conference play, winning the series against a ranked Wichita State team last weekend on the road and taking two out of three games from UCF the weekend prior
 
// CURRENT CONFERENCE STANDINGS
• There is just 1.5 game difference between the first place and second-to-last place team in the American Athletic Conference as the halfway point nears
• Cincinnati, Houston and USF are all tied for first at 7-5 or a win percentage of .583
• UC won the series against Houston earlier this season and faces USF at home in the final regular season games
• ECU and UConn are tied for fourth at 5-4 (.556)
• UCF and Tulane are both an even .500 in AAC play at 6-6
• Wichita State is 4-5 while Memphis rounds out the current standings at 1-8
• This weekend UCF travels to USF, ECU goes to Memphis, Wichita State visits Houston and Tulane faces a non-conference opponent
 
// NOTABLE NUMBERS
• The third inning has been a good one for the Bearcats pitchers and defense. UC has given up just four runs in the third frame this season
• A first place spot in the rankings is thanks in part to the second-best ERA in conference-only games. Bearcats pitchers have a 3.89 mark through twelve games
Cam Alldred holds the second-lowest ERA in conference play with a 1.52 in four starts and is tied for first in wins with three. He is also second in strikeouts with 29, averaging 11.03 per game
Jarod Yoakam has an AAC-best three saves
Kyle Mottice and Manny Rodriguez are tied for second in runs scored with 13 runs each
• Rodriguez's five homeruns in AAC games is tied for the lead while he ranks second in doubles and leads in total bases, averaging 3.00 a game. His .766 conference slugging percentage leads the AAC
Connor McVey has five stolen bases which ranks third
