70 Bearcats Set to Earn Degrees from Cincinnati this Weekend

The office of Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) held a graduation celebration for 106 University of Cincinnati student-athletes Wednesday, April 25, inside the Richard E. Lindner Center as each of the individuals on hand received their graduation stoles and were recognized by the Department of Athletics.

CINCINNATI - The office of Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) held a graduation celebration for 106 University of Cincinnati student-athletes Wednesday, April 25, inside the Richard E. Lindner Center as each of the individuals on hand received their graduation stoles and were recognized by the Department of Athletics. The Class of 2018, which includes those graduating this weekend, in August and in December, featured 70 student-athletes and 12 members of the spirit squad (cheer and dance) that will earn their diplomas this weekend inside Nippert Stadium.

This year's group of spring graduates features 70 student-athletes that have earned degrees in 26 different majors. In total, of the 106 graduates in the Class of 2018, three returned to campus to complete their degrees while currently or previously playing professionally while five others completed their Master's degrees while finishing their final year of athletic eligibility at UC. Three programs produced the most graduates this Spring, including 18 men and women from the track & field/cross country program and 10 each from the baseball and football programs.

The 2018 Spring Commencement Ceremonies begin Friday at 2 p.m. with the Master's Recognition Ceremony. Then, two undergraduate ceremonies will be held Saturday with the first at 9 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. All events will held inside Nippert Stadium on campus.
