University of Cincinnati baseball hosts a non-conference series at Marge Schott Stadium this weekend when Kansas comes to town for a three-game set. Game times are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

• In celebration of National Pretzel Day, pretzels will be available for just $2
• The concessions stands will also offer beer and hot dogs for $1 each
• On Saturday, the first 700 fans through the gates will receive a Bearcats mini bat, courtesy of RotoRooter
• Sunday is a coaster giveaway. The first 500 fans will received a coaster presented by Formica
• The final game of the series will also be a Sunday Family Fun Day. Four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas can be purchased for just $20

// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• This is the first meeting of the two teams
• Kansas is 19-21 on the season and currently 3-11 in the Big 12 conference
• The Jayhawks have faced AAC for Wichita State twice this season. Kansas was blanked 11-0 on the road last week and lost 14-5 to the Shockers at home this past Tuesday
• Kansas has notable wins over ranked opponents this season. The Jayhawks swept a home series against No. 20 St. John's in early March and won a seven-inning finale with No. 5 Texas Tech by a score of 17-3
• The Jayhawks are 15-9 at home this season and 4-12 on the road
 
// CONFERENCE OUTLOOK
• The AAC standings have shifted quite a bit compared to what they were a week ago. Only three games separate the No. 1 spot from the No. 7 spot
• Houston remains in a tie for first (10-5, .667), now with ECU (8-4, .667)
•USF is in third (9-6, .600) while UConn is a game and a half back in fourth place (7-5, .583)
• Cincinnati currently sits in fifth place (8-7, .533)
• Tulane comes next at an even 6-6 and UCF fills the seventh spot in the standings (7-8, .467)
• As of right now, Wichita State would grab the eighth and final place in the AAC Tournament (4-8, .333) while Memphis would be the sole team not making postseason play (1-11, .083)
• The standings are set to shift yet again after this weekend's series
• Front-runners Houston and ECU face off in Greenville, N.C.
• Wichita State plays at UCF, Tulane is at UConn and Memphis travels to USF
 
// CAREERS COMING TO AN END
• The Bearcats' roster is full of upperclassmen with a few having the opportunity to leave their mark on the UC record book
Connor McVey is currently sixth in career games played, seventh in at-bats, fourth in hit by pitch, tied for second in sacrifice hits and tied for third in career stolen bases
• McVey needs 12 more hits to jump into the top ten in hits and six doubles to be top ten in that category
Kyle Mottice is tied for eighth in sacrifice hits
• On the mound, J.T. Perez is tied for seventh in career starts, fourth in innings pitched and is tied for tenth in career strikeouts
Jarod Yoakam ranks tied for seventh in saves and is currently fourth in appearances
 
// LOOKING AHEAD
• After the Kansas series, UC will be on the road for its next nine games
• A trip to Xavier on Tuesday, May 8
• The Bearcats return home on Tuesday, May 15 for an 11 a.m. game against Ohio State
• That midweek day game is Education Day, UC Staff Appreciation Day and Taco Tuesday
• UC closes out the regular season by hosting USF in a three-game series Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19
• That Thursday will be a retro logo coaster giveaway to the first 500 fans presented by Formica
• On Friday, May 18, the first 250 fans will receive a black C-Paw t-shirt
