CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball completed the weekend series sweep of Kansas with a 9-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Bearcats led the whole way and solidified the win with a four-run eighth inning.

• Cincinnati improves to 22-19 on the year while Kansas drops to 19-24
• In his collegiate debut, Garrett Schoenle struck out four in 2.0 innings with no hits and no walks to earn the save
• Cam Alldred got the win after going 7.0 frames with three runs, six hits, no walks and seven strikeouts
• Six of UC's ten hits were for extra bases
• Seven different players picked up at least one RBI
• Kyle Mottice, Joey Thomas and Joey Wiemer all had two hits on the day
• Mottice and Treg Haberkorn doubled, Manny Rodriguez and Eric Santiago tripled, and Connor McVey and Wiemer both blasted homeruns
• Rodriguez continued his reach base safely streak as it has now grown to 43 consecutive games

• The Bearcats opened up the scoring with a two runs. With Haberkorn and Thomas on base, Rodriguez tripled to left center
Bottom of the 4th
• Wiemer led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homerun to left center
Bottom of the 5th
• UC added on another two-run frame to make the lead 5-0. Haberkorn was hit by a pitch and Mottice singled before Thomas came up with an RBI base hit. McVey then reached on a fielder's choice to score Mottice from third
Top of the 6th
• Kansas did its only damage in the sixth. A double, single, hit batter and a bases-clearing double made it a two-run game
Bottom of the 8th
• The biggest inning came late. McVey homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the eighth. A Santiago triple and doubles by Haberkorn and Mottice, all in a row, put the final score at 9-3

• UC sets out on a nine-game road trip
• The Bearcats will make the short trip to Miami on Tuesday
• Conference play will resume with a trip to Wichita State next weekend
• UC will return home on May 15 for a 11 a.m. game versus Ohio State
