// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Cincinnati is 73-102-1 all-time against Miami
• The RedHawks took this season's earlier meeting during the championship game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic. Miami won it on home turf, 9-8, on a walk-off hit
• Last season, the Bearcats took both matchups, winning 1-0 at home and 8-6 on the road
• Like UC, Miami has faced Northern Kentucky, Xavier and Toledo already this season. The RedHawks swept NKU in a weekend series, were swept by the Musketeers in a three-game series then beat them in the Joe Nuxhall Classic and then took two out of three games against the Rockets in a weekend series

// CLOSING IN ON CLEARWATER
• There are just three weekends left of conference action before the top eight teams make their way to Clearwater, Florida, for the American Athletic Conference Tournament
• After a big weekend sweep of ECU, Houston sits alone in first place right now at 13-5 (.722)
• USF is in second at 11-7 (.611) and UConn is in third at 9-6 (.600)
• ECU and Cincinnati are in a tie for fourth place at 8-7 (.533)
• UCF sit at an even 9-9 in conference play and currently ranks sixth
• Tulane is 7-8 (.467) and Wichita State is 5-10 (.333). Memphis rounds out the rankings at 2-13 (.133)
• The AAC Tournament is set to be held May 22-27

// WEEKLY HONORS
• Senior catcher Joey Thomas was honored on Monday with a spot on the conference's weekly Honor Roll
• Thomas hit .429 in the series sweep of Kansas, including a 4-for-7 performance in Saturday's thirteen-inning game where he also threw out three base runners
• He becomes the eighth different Bearcats player to earn Honor Roll recognition this season

// FUN WITH NUMBERS
• The third inning has been a strong one all season for UC's pitching and defense
• Only five of opponents' 200 runs have been scored in the third inning
• The team has a sub-1.00 ERA in the third frame this year and the trio of weekend starters have given up just one earned run combined
• Part of that success has come with the help of seven double plays turned during the third
Kyle Mottice leads the team with 15 multiple hit games while Manny Rodriguez leads with nine multiple RBI games
• The Bearcats have been more successful this year when the team has scored first, going 17-6 when that occurs compared to 5-13 when the opponent scores first

// LOOKING AHEAD
• Tuesday's game at Miami is the first of nine-straight on the road
• UC will resume AAC play with a trip to Wichita State this weekend
• The Bearcats return home to Marge Schott Stadium on Tuesday, May 11 in an 11 a.m. Education Day game versus Ohio State
