TicketsUniversity of Cincinnati senior catcher Joey Thomas was named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday.
Thomas hit .429 through three games this past weekend to help lead the Bearcats to sweep Kansas. He has his biggest game on Saturday as UC won in thirteen innings. Thomas finished 4-for-7 with a RBI and run scored and also threw out three base runners in the contest. On Sunday he picked up two more hits with another run and RBI. He also walked twice as the Bearcats went on to win 9-3 for the series sweep.
Thomas is the eighth different Bearcats player to be named to the AAC Honor Roll this season. Kyle Mottice, A.J. Kullman, Cam Alldred, Manny Rodriguez, A.J. Bumpass, Nathan Kroger and J.T. Perez have all received the recognition.
UC begins a nine-game road swing this week, starting with a 6 p.m. contest at Miami on Tuesday. The Bearcats return home for their annual Education Day game with an 11 a.m. first pitch against Ohio State on Tuesday, May 15.
