University of Cincinnati baseball rounds out its nine game road trip with a three-game series at No. 10 ECU this weekend. The two teams will play Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Cincinnati is 5-14-2 all-time against ECU
• Last season UC took the opening game at home 8-2 then dropped the next two 6-0 and 14-3, respectively, to lose the series
• The Bearcats traveled to Greenville in 2016 and split the series as the visitors won the first game 1-0, dropped the second 6-4 then the third ended in a 3-3 tie
• UC last won at ECU in 2005 in a 3-2 ten-inning victory
• The Pirates' last home conference series was two weeks ago when they were swept by Houston
• Last weekend, ECU swept Tulane on the road
• ECU has won five straight as they took two midweek contests, beating Norfolk State 9-1 on Tuesday and UNC Wilmington 5-4 Wednesday night
 
// CONFERENCE CLINCHERS
• The Bearcats' win last Sunday at Wichita State clinched a berth in the AAC Tournament coming up at the end of the month
• Six teams secured a seed while three teams still in contention for the final two spots
• Houston sits atop the standings at 14-7 (.667)
• There is a three-way tie for second place as ECU, USF and UConn are all 11-7 (.611)
• Cincinnati is just a game back in fifth place at 10-8 (.556)
• UCF is the sixth team to clinch, sitting at 11-10 (.524) in conference play
• Tulane is in seventh at 7-11 (.389)
• Wichita State is eighth (6-12, .333) and Memphis is currently in ninth (3-15, .167)
 
// DYNAMITE DEFENSE
• UC had perhaps its best weekend of defense this past weekend at Wichita State
• The team recorded seven double plays in the three-game series and turned a triple play on Saturday
Jordan Ramey earned the No. 3 spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays with a sensational diving grab over the wall in right field during the second inning of Friday night's contest
Treg Haberkorn followed that with a leaping, tumbling grab in the sixth inning of the series-opener
• Ramey also had a top-ten worthy play with a center field grab at Louisville Wednesday night
• The Bearcats rank second in the country in total double plays and in double plays per game
 
// WEEKLY HONORS
• Haberkorn was named the conference's Player of the Week on Monday for his outstanding performances in four games
• He hit an even .500 on the week with a .765 on-base percentage
• Haberkorn was walked four times, hit five times, opened the Wichita State series with a RBI double and smacked a three-run homerun in the series finale
• The center fielder also made a great diving catch on Friday and stole a total of four bases on the week
Cam Alldred earned a spot on the AAC weekly Honor Roll after a brilliant start on Sunday
• The lefty set the pace on the mound for the Bearcats to get the win and the series victory
• Alldred went 7.0 innings with one run, three hits, two walks and ten strikeouts
 
// SANTIAGO'S SURGE
Eric Santiago has been a menace at the plate the last ten games, improving his batting average 56 points from .232 to .288 in the span
• The sophomore is batting .436 with 17 hits in the past ten contests
• That includes four doubles and a triple with eight RBI and 23 total bases
• Santiago has hit .478 in the last two weekend series with a .609 slugging percentage and no errors with 50 putouts and three assists while starting at first base
• He has reached base at a .500 clip during the Wichita State and Kansas series combined and defensively was a part of a dozen double plays
 
// LOOKING AHEAD
• This weekend will conclude a nine-game road swing for UC as they head back to Cincinnati to close out the regular season
• The Bearcats return home for an 11 a.m. game against Ohio State on Tuesday, May 15
• The regular season comes to a close at home Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19 in a conference series with USF
