University of Cincinnati baseball returns home to Marge Schott Stadium for its annual Education Day on Tuesday with an 11 a.m. game versus Ohio State.

• The game is also UC Staff Appreciation Day

// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Cincinnati is 24-69-2 all-time against Ohio State
• Last season the Bearcats beat the Buckeyes 7-1 in Columbus
• UC won four straight games against OSU from 2010-2013
• Ohio State is 33-17 this season and coming off a weekend series win over Purdue
• At 13-8 the Buckeyes currently sit in a tie for fourth place in the B1G standings, trailing Minnesota, Michigan and Purdue and tied with Illinois
 
// CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK
• The eight 2018 tournament teams have been decided as Memphis was eliminated from postseason play this past weekend
• Houston leads the conference and has clinched at least a share of the regular season title with a 16-8 record heading into the final week of play
• ECU ranks second at 13-8
• USF is third at 12-8-1 and UConn is in fourth at 12-9
• Cincinnati is tied for fifth place with UCF. Both sit at 11-10 in conference play
• Tulane follows at 9-12 while Wichita State right now has the eight seed at 7-13-1
• This coming weekend ECU travels to UConn, Tulane goes to UCF and Wichita State visits Memphis
• If the season were to end today, UC would be the No. 6 seed and play No. 3 USF on Wednesday
• The tournament begins May 22 in Clearwater, Florida
 
// THE BEST AT TURNING TWO
• With 61 on the season and averaging 1.22 per game, there is no better team across the country at recording double plays than Cincinnati
• The Bearcats lead the nation in both total double plays and double plays per game entering the final week of the regular season
• The team was ranked second but took the top spot from Texas this past weekend
• UC is also one of just fifteen schools in Division I baseball to record a triple play this season
• The program record for double plays is 72 set during the 2000 season
• The Bearcats have at least six games remaining on the schedule
 
// CLOSE CALLS
• Cincinnati has played in more close games than nearly every other team in Division I baseball
• 19 of the team's 50 games have been decided by one run. That is more than any other team
• More than half of UC's games this year (54%) have been decided by two runs or less
• According to responses by SIDs, only Michigan State has played in more close games (58.7% have been 1-2 run games) than Cincinnati

• The regular season comes to a close at home Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19 in a conference series with USF
• On Saturday the team's seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony
