CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Football Head Coach Luke Fickell will throw out the first pitch before the Cincinnati Reds-Chicago Cubs game at 1:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
It is the second trip to the Great American Ball Park mound for the Bearcats second-year head coach, who also had the honor during the 2017 Reds season. The first pitch is scheduled to take place around 12:50 p.m.
Fickell will also appear on the FOX Sports Ohio broadcast with reporter Jeff Piecoro during the third inning.
Athletics staff will be on site at the Reds Connect Zone presented by UC during the game to distribute posters, schedule cards and ticket information.
Football season tickets for the 2018 campaign go on sale this coming Monday, May 21, 2018. Ticket plans start at $99 and can be purchased by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX or visiting GoBEARCATS.com/tickets.
The Bearcats will have a six-game home slate with five Saturday games and one weekday game (Friday, Nov. 23 vs. ECU) inside Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats will play host to non-league home games against Alabama A&M (Sept. 15) and Ohio (Sept. 22) along with American Athletic Conference games against Tulane (Oct. 6), Navy (Nov. 3), USF (Nov. 10) and the regular-season finale against ECU (Nov. 23). UC's road schedule sees it facing UCLA (Sept. 1), Miami (OH) at Paul Brown Stadium (Sept. 8), UConn (Sept. 29), Temple (Oct. 20), SMU (Oct. 27) and UCF (Nov. 17).
