The American Athletic Conference announced its final weekly awards Monday morning with University of Cincinnati's Kyle Mottice being named to the Honor Roll.
Mottice had an unbelievable week to close out the final regular season of his career. He started with a bases-clearing triple in a midweek matchup with Ohio State, earning three RBI and scoring two runs in the 14-4 victory. In the final conference series of the season, the senior batted .769 with ten hits in 13 at-bats. He was hit by a pitch and added in a sacrifice and four stolen bases on the weekend. Mottice ends the regular season hitting .330 and starting in all of the team's 54 games. He hit .349 in the team's 24 conference games, with the AAC sitting third in conference RPI.
The honor is Mottice's second of the season. Eight other teammates were recognized in the conference's weekly awards throughout the season.
The Bearcats begin postseason play on Wednesday, May 23 in the AAC Tournament in Clearwater, Florida. No. 6 UC will take on No. 3 UConn at 3 p.m.
