The Bearcats' first game of the tournament has been moved up to a 12:30 p.m. approximate start on Wednesday. UC will then play its second game of the tournament immediately after, win or lose. The winning team will remain at Spectrum Field and the losing team will play at a nearby facility.

The University of Cincinnati begins postseason play on Wednesday in the 2018 American Athletic Conference Tournament hosted in Clearwater, Florida. The No. 6 Bearcats will take on the No. 3 UConn Huskies.

// ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
• For the first time, three Bearcats were named to the AAC All-Conference teams and, also for the first time, two UC players landed on the First Team
• Senior pitcher J.T. Perez and senior shortstop Manny Rodriguez were named to the First Team for their performances this season
• Junior Cam Alldred was named to the Second Team

// THE BEST AT TURNING TWO
• With 67 on the season and averaging 1.24 per game, there is no better team across the country at recording double plays than Cincinnati
• The Bearcats lead the nation in both total double plays and double plays per game entering the postseason
• UC is also one of just sixteen schools in Division I baseball to record a triple play this year
• The program record for double plays is 72 set during the 2000 season

// ON THE VERGE
• Cincinnati's last season finishing over .500 was in 2011 when it went 30-27
• Since the AAC hosted its first baseball tournament in 2014, the Bearcats have not won a game during the event, going 0-8 in the four years
• Two of those losses came in extra innings
• At 28-26 on the season, UC needs to win one game in Clearwater to end both of those streaks
• The Bearcats will aim to do so with a coach that has had success winning in the postseason
• Coach Googins took his team to four NCAA tournaments during his tenure at Xavier
• He led XU to back-to-back NCAA regional championships in 2016 and 2017

// CLOSE CALLS
• Cincinnati has played in more close games than nearly every other team in Division I baseball
• 20 of the team's 54 games have been decided by one run. That ranks near the top in one-run games compared to other teams around the country
• More than half of UC's games this year have been decided by two runs or less

// EXCELLENCE IN THE CLASSROOM
• The Bearcats posted good numbers in the classroom during the spring semester
• The team combined for a 3.26 GPA, had three students earn perfect 4.0's, 15 made the Dean's List with a 3.4 or higher and 20 landed on the Honor Roll with 3.0's or better
• Nine student-athletes graduated this spring
• Connor McVey will complete his master's degree this summer
