CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 6 University of Cincinnati baseball dropped its first contest in the American Athletic Conference Tournament 6-2 to No. 3 UConn on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Bearcats will now face No. 2 USF at Robin Roberts Field after the completion of the previous game being played on that field.

• Cincinnati moves to 28-27 on the season
• UConn improves to 33-18-1
• UC's six hits were scattered throughout the order
• The Bearcats' biggest swing of the bat came on a two-run homerun by Eric Santiago
Cam Alldred went 6.1 frames in the start with seven strikeouts
A.J. Kullman followed with 1.2 innings in relief

• The Bearcats got on the board the next frame. McVey singled and Bumpass reached on a fielder's choice to have one runner on base. Santiago then sent a pitch sailing over the wall in left field for a two-run homerun
