CINCINNATI – First-year University of Cincinnati women's basketball head coach Michelle Clark-Heard announced Friday the signing of transfer student-athlete Addaya Moore to a National Letter of Intent. Moore comes to UC after spending last season at Illinois.
A 5-foot-11 guard, Moore (Granite City, Ill./Granite City/Illinois), in her freshman season at Illinois in 2017-18, played in 19 games. Due to NCAA Division I transfer rules, she will have to sit out the 2018-19 season but will have three seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning with the 2019-20 campaign.
"I am excited that Addaya has joined our Bearcats family," said Clark-Heard. "She is a long and athletic wing that gained valuable experience playing in the Big Ten last season. Addaya's size and skillset make her a perfect match for our system, both offensively and defensively, and we can't wait to get her on campus."
Last season, Moore scored a season-high 10 points, in just 10 minutes of play, in an 81-52 Illini win over Indiana State. In addition, she posted seven points, an assist, and a steal at New Mexico. Furthermore, she recorded six points and six rebounds in the 2017-18 regular season finale against Minnesota.
Prior, the guard enjoyed a decorated prep career at Granite City High School in Granite City, Illinois. She averaged 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 4.2 blocks per game during her senior year. Moore earned numerous honors and awards in high school including 2016 First-Team All-Southwestern Conference accolades. Additionally, she was stellar during tournament play, garnering two-time Carrollton All-Tournament honors as well as All-Tournament distinctions at Orchard Farm and Jerseyville.
