TicketsPROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference announced its 2018-19 women's basketball pairings on Friday.
The league's 12 members will play 16-game schedules with each team playing five of its 11 opponents twice, and six opponents once each – three at home and three away.
The Bearcats' single-game matchups include home-only contests against Houston, SMU, and Wichita State, with away-only tilts at UCF, ECU, and Tulane. UC will face the remaining league opponents twice over the course of the conference season -- once at home and once on the road.
The league experienced tremendous basketball success in 2017-18 with five teams – UConn, USF, UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston -- selected for postseason competition. Notably, UConn advanced to its 11th-consecutive Final Four, while UC qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2012 with an appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).
The complete 2018-19 AAC women's basketball schedule with dates and times will be announced later this summer.
Led by head coach Michelle Clark-Heard, who will enter her first season at the helm at UC, the Bearcats will return home to newly-renovated Fifth Third Arena in 2018-19. Season ticket information will be announced during summer 2018.
