Sydney Moman Named Women Leaders in College Sports Rising Star Award Recipient

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Women Leaders in College Sports named University of Cincinnati undergraduate Sport Services intern, Sydney Moman, a recipient of the 2018 Rising Star Award.
 
The Rising Star Award recognizes junior or senior undergraduate students, graduate students, interns, or volunteers who aspire to a career in intercollegiate athletics. These Women Leaders members demonstrate high-level leadership roles on campus, in a conference office, an organization, or in the community.
 
Award recipients will receive scholarships to attend the 2018 Women Leaders National Convention taking place October 14-16 in Atlanta, Georgia. The National Convention is the premier conference for women working in intercollegiate athletics, offering unparalleled leadership and professional development, industry training, and networking opportunities.
 
Moman joined the department as a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati in the fall of 2015. She began her work in the compliance and football recruiting offices, and over time, took on small roles in the Student-Athlete Support Services department, ultimately becoming an academic coach. In 2017, Moman was involved in the planning and execution of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day event which was hosted by the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics and the Sport Administration Department.
 
Moman graduated in April with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Administration and a minor in Sociology. She has been accepted into the University of Cincinnati Sport Administration graduate program and will return as a graduate assistant in Sport Services and Student-Athlete Support Services for the 2018-19 academic year.
 
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Moman was a member of the 2014 Columbus School for Girls graduating class. In high school, she was a member of the International Thespian Society and was a co-recipient of the 2014 Columbus School for Girls Ruth Heer Mann Faculty Award which is awarded to students who have demonstrated qualities of outstanding ability, strong personal character, commitment, and a quest for excellence.
