The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Scholar All-America Teams with thirteen University of Cincinnati student-athletes receiving honors.

Seven men (Zach Baecker, Chris Bready, Justin Crew, Ryan DePietro, Tyler Jones, Din Selmanovic and Toby Van Dyke) and six women (Lindsey Niehaus, Ellen Posch, Claire Schuermann, Dee Sopapong, Sara Wanasek and Samantha Wheatley) all earned honorable mention recognition. The award is given out to student-athletes who achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective conference championships.

13 total honorees leads the way in the American Athletic Conference for programs who have both men's and women's teams. ECU had eight student-athletes recognized while UConn and SMU had three each. The Bearcats were also recognized by the CSCAA in both the fall and spring semester for academic achievement. Both UC swimming and diving programs posted the highest GPA's ever and had the best GPAs in the AAC this past spring semester. The women's team tied for the 15th-highest GPA in Division I with a 3.63 while the men had a cumulative spring GPA of 3.29.

The success in the classroom mirrored the program's success in the pool as the men's team won its first AAC title in February and the women finished runner-up. UC will be back in competition this fall, looking to build on the historic 2017-18 season.
