TicketsThe American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honored 973 teams, including 164 in NCAA Division I women's volleyball, with the 2017-18 Team Academic Award as announced by the organization on Monday.
The University of Cincinnati was recognized for being in the top 25 for combined fall and spring team GPA while receiving Team Academic Award honors. The award showcases collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA.
The Bearcats posted a 3.58 team GPA this past fall with an impressive five student-athletes (one-third of the team) recording perfect 4.0's for the semester. The team topped that with its highest GPA ever, a 3.69, in the spring.
UC returns to campus to begin preseason preparation in early August in preparation for the season opener August 24 against UC Santa Barbara.
